Sunday 6th May Away - Wealdstone Corinthians

A lovely day yesterday ended with N2CC losing by 15 runs.  Having won the toss on an unknown pitch, the skipper decided to put the home team into bat - also to allow the N2 stragglers to turn up for the game.

In fact we only ended up with 10 men after one player decided not to turn up at all even though we had a 12th man waiting in the wings we couldn't get in touch with Ravi so it made life very difficult fielding with 10 men in the heat and then having one less batsman.

A great bowling performance from Zafer Abbas (5 overs, 2 maidens, 5 wickets for 5 Runs) and Gopesh Pandey (6.2 overs 2 wickets for 17 runs) restricted the home team to 96 runs although on this pitch it was probably equal to 130ish.

However, N2CC had a slow start which put undue pressure on the batsmen and after some good bowling and some poor shot choices we capitulated to 35 for 6.  Thanks to Gopesh (18) again with the bat and along with top scorer Paul Anderson (40 not out), we managed to get back into the game but with these two batsmen the only ones to get into double figures we were all out for 81... well the 9 wickets anyway!
