Elite CC vs N2CC
3.5.14

Well an eventful day on 3rd May against Elite CC meant we managed to play two games again but this time it was N2CC on the end of a short game.  Elite won the toss and elected to field!  A somewhat surprised skipper then had to find a couple of openers from a fairly changed team.

Our batting was impacted by a very unpredictable pitch which saw the ball flying up, rolling along the ground and turning more than a foot as well as swinging a fair bit.  We were all out for 37 thanks partly to Andy Wilson's stubborn batting as he was the only one who did not want to give up his wicket to poor shot selection and Trevor Crouchley showing that he's not lost any of his defensive prowess.  N2 then set about the Elite batting and right from the start there was a battling spirit which saw N2 actually winning with Elite 0 for 2 wickets!  If it wasn't for a couple of dropped catches and a couple of non-attempts due to slow reactions, we could have won the match but Elite survived and scrapped their way to 37 for 5 (I think).

Full match report to follow from Andy Wilson.

We played a 15 over match after tea with tiring players and a wicketkeeper whose thighs were burning after the first game :)

Elite batted first this time and managed to score 108 this time and N2 followed their first innings showing with a much improved 78 with overs to spare so anything could have happened if we just protected our wickets a bit better.
