Judd St. Tigers CC vs N2CC Sun 4th June 2018

N2CC failed to find any sort of cutting edge away to Judd Street Tigers on Sunday... three big innings from the hosts' top order created the platform to post 226 from their 40 overs.
Having lost the toss, N2 did have a good start with the ball when Zafer Abbas bowled one of the openers.
Skipper Shai Bhatt, nursing a hamstring injury, was only forced to play after some 'no shows'. In spells from both ends he was again the pick of the bowlers with two for 28. Other bowlers proved expensive, although Abdul Firfire did grab two for 24 late on.
It was always going to be a big ask for N2 to get close to the target. Dave Parker's uncharacteristic poor start to the season, continued on Sunday with the opener bowled for eight. Dee Hingorani, elevated to his more natural opening slot, got his head down, producing a dogged display. Always looking for the quick single, he had made 35 when he was bowled.
In total, six N2 batsman were bowled on a good pitch, with even bounce... something individuals will need to look at.
Josh 'the mensch' Newman, playing what will likely be his only game of the season, provided some late entertainment and restored a modicum of pride to N2. In typical style he bludgeoned his way to 37.
Clutching at straws, N2 had two objectives as their reply came to its conclusion. Get over 150 and not lose a tenth wicket. Unfortunately Bhatt was caught off the last ball... the total on 149.
As the numbers below show, we are giving away far too many runs as bowlers with 3 or 4 bad balls an over making life difficult for our batsmen so every bowler needs to tighten up their line and length and try to aim for an average of 3 or 4 runs per over.  Make the batsmen WORK for their runs.
Also, we’re giving away our wicket far too cheaply – play for the team and value your time at the crease.

Man of the match:  Josh Newham showing how to hit the ball and taking a catch at wicket keeper.
