N2 CC v Edgware Belmont 2nd X1

On a warm sunny day N2 lost the toss and were put in to bat. Smiles all round by the openers!
Barney and Parker stuck to the skippers orders and got the team off to a steady start enduring the lifeless pitch and some good swing bowling by the oppo's young opening bowler. Ryan eventually departed on 49 after top edging one to square leg after an opening partnership of 61. Parker picked up his pace and quickly added a few boundaries before being caught pulling to square leg for 33. Next to the crease was Josh Newham eager to impress his fiance Philippa. Indeed a quick 27 from 12 balls was certainly very impressive. Being bowled off his pads was not however! An explosive innings from Chirag followed scoring a quick 63 helped by some good transferring of the strike from Anil took the N2 to a good total of 201.

With high hopes of a victory after a fine tea by Anil, Shailesh started the bolwing with pace and accuracy, eventaully taking 4 good wickets.
Butler also bowled with some good accuracy and swing unfortuntely missing out on a wicket caught by Parker at square leg due to it being a no ball! Peter Barney also bowled well and with pace and soon another wicket fell as did keeper Josh when he took a nice one in the gentleman's parts from Pete! Guest player Adrian Sweetie also bowled well and took two wickets bamboozling the oppo with some spin and good flight. A wicket also clean bowled for Anil took th oppo to the last wicket stand. Unfortunately though the oppo held out and survived all the N2 could throw at them after scoring only 72.
